moral stance

fr: george weigel [distinguished sr fellow, ethics & public policy ctr, washington] (2008 oct 14). "prolife catholics for obama", http://www.newsweek.com/id/163896/

moral issues can be divided into those that catholics are:
(1) morally obliged to oppose, ex: legal segregation, abortion*
(2) left to their "prudential judgment", ex: war, social welfar, environment, economy

-----
*"the catholic church has opposed abortion from the beginnings of christianity; nor an open questoin for serious catholics."
